Museum of Coastal Carolina
Ocean Isle Beach is home to the incredible educational attraction known as the Museum of Coastal Carolina. Here, visitors can observe an exquisite aquarium, pet live sea animals in a touch tank, see all types of fossils and shells from the area, learn about whales and sharks in fascinating displays, watch live snakes, and explore a diorama of an ocean reef with life-sized sea turtles, manta rays, sharks, and whales. Additionally, the museum also has exhibits on the ecology of the region, the effects of pollution on the environment, local Native American tribes, and local history, maritime and cultural.
Ocean Isle Beach Pier
A picturesque place to visit during your time in Ocean Isle Beach, Ocean Isle Beach Pier is a quaint spot for fishing, dining, and taking a lovely stroll in the ocean air. Being that the pier is a private pier, it does cost a nominal fee of $2.00 for adults and kids over 4 (4 and under free) to walk along the pier. If you plan on going fishing (which we’d highly recommend, after tasting the delicious food and desserts at Breakers Pizza, Grill & Arcade or Sunset Slush), there is an $10.00 charge to fish. Parking is $8.00 in season ($5.00 off season) for an entire day, unless you are fishing or dining. Fish caught here include trout, flounder, bluefish, and king mackerel.
River Country Mini Golf
Gather family members and friends for a fun round of mini golf at River Country Mini Golf! Let the nostalgia of childhood summer vacations spent by the sea wash over you as you and your guests engage in a little friendly competition! You’ll find River Country Mini Golf located just across the street from the Museum of Coastal Carolina, near local eateries like Pelican’s Perch, Breakers, and Sunset Slush. It’s the perfect way to feel like a kid again!
